I went out on my boat this morning to do a little fishing near the Point Loma kelp beds and the swells were easily averaging 10 or more feet intermittently. My original plan was to dive the kelp but my buddy canceled so I settled for fishing instead since the day was clear. Has anyone tried diving from a 20 foot boat in conditions like this? I probably would have called the dives if we'd headed out in those conditions but I wonder if it wouldn't be a problem so long as we kept to the deeper depths. Of course, climbing back aboard the boat would have been challenging. What's the concensus from the more experienced, cancel or charge ahead?
