Regarding Monterey divers of which I am one. I can easily state that over 80% of the divers that dive in the Monterey area are from out of town, and most of them an hour or more away. Monterey is a small community. Divers from North of San Francisco and Sacramento drive down regularly to Monterey to dive.

In a recent survey of divers from North of San Luis Obisbo to Eureka showed a very high percentage would come down to the San Luis/Morrow Bay area to dive a ship wreck. Monterey has no ship wrecks to speak of to dive on.

All dives are fun, some are just more "entertaining" ;-)
