Great Thanks go out to MJG. We were diving at Catalina last night when a diver had a problem. He had to ditch his gear. That meaning his weight belt, BC, and tank. DM Steve went out to assist him. I was very surprised to see him without gear, but he was back on the boat, and NOT HURT.
We sent in two very capable divers to try and find his gear, but there was a current running and they did not find his gear. On the way back they limited out on Bugs so we decided to stay there for the night dive.
The diver who had lost his gear was very upset, as it was worth some big bucks, and we asked every diver to keep a look out for his gear. I did think we would find it because of the current.
MJG was one of those divers. He had only caught 3 bugs when he came across the ditched gear of the diver. He could very well have just left the gear, as the bugs were out and in great numbers. He did though, recover the gear for the diver, and got two more bugs on the way back.
MJG could have left the gear, or hid it only to return latter to claim it. He did neither. He brought the gear back for the diver with no questions asked.
The other diver did pay for MJG’s trip. Very nice of the diver.
Once again, MJG, Thank you, Thank your very much…
