Terry, years ago I did a two day lingcod fishing trip out of Morrow Bay. Had no knowledge of the harbor. Got on the boat and went to bed. Fished two days and we came back. At the entrance to the harbor they had us all put life jackets on and stand at the stern. A little irritated I asked what all this was about and was told about the swell and the hazard of entering the harbor. Captain watched the swell and we surfed it into the harbor. If I had known about this the night we left the harbor I would not have gone to bed until we had cleared the harbor. Scared the heck out of me. dawhale
