I agree - we saw plenty of snubnose sculpins on the trip, and the head is totally different. Plus, this little guy was almost the size of a normal full-grown snubnose; if it was a juvenile of the species (and hence looked a little different), I'd expect it to be smaller.

It doesn't seem like a full-grown smoothhead or coralline... too much head! Too bad there aren't more photos out there of juveniles.

Bah. I hate sculpin IDs too. I'll see if Jeff has any other angles on that guy.
