Dove the north side of Buchanan's today at about 11:30, surface was moderatly choppy with just a very slight southbound current. dropped into 40 feet of water. Vis was 8'+- and the water is still COLD at depth. Sitex said the surface temp was 59f but oceanic said the temp at 40' was 50f. We headed out to deeper water and at 60' to 70' it cleared up to about 15' of vis. (and the temp dropped to 49F!) Nothing spectacular to report underwater, but while I was doing my safety stop on the anchor line my son (who was already up on the boat said two black and white whales swam past the boat! He said he couldn't ID them but they could have been pilot whales,, anybody else have any sightings in the area?
