The Big Dude in the Gray Suit has been hungry this spring.

He's also known as "The S Word" among surfers and divers, and some call him "Big Whitey."

You may recognize him as the great white shark, but by any name, he's been creating havoc in Mexico in the past month. Three surfers have been attacked near Zihuantanejo, two fatally. The most recent attack was May 24 when an instructor got partially munched with a bite on the arm. Earlier in May, a surfer on vacation from San Francisco was killed.

You may also remember the attack story in late April out of Solana Beach near San Diego. A 15-foot shark killed a 66-year-old triathlete as he swam 150 yards offshore.

Meanwhile, there have been sightings of giant great white sharks this winter roaming along Aņo Nuevo State Reserve near Pescadero, the Farallon Islands National Marine Sanctuary, with a few sightings in winter off Stinson Beach.
