After our dive on Thursday, I was looking forward to improved conditions for the Sunday Service at Marineland. The surf was down, as was the surge, but the top forty feet of water was a Third Stage Smog Alert. Knowing we wouldn't get any photos nor video near shore we headed toward the point. A small fishing boat was in our path so we dropped early and looked around the reef. Nudibranch eggs were everywhere, but few nudis. I found one Hermissenda and one Cuthona divae, but none of the usual San Diego dorids nor Spanish Shawls
Merry shot video in the green haze below the brown haze. I was surprised she managed to save anything.
Visibility at the point was six to eight feet. Water temps ranged from 69F at the surface to 52.9F at fifty feet.
