The kelp is thriving on the reef, it's just the cove area. There is mostly a sand bottom in the cove so kelp normally does not grow there. We do currently have some kelp growth but slightly less then the past few months. I don't think 1 fish will tilt the balance of things in the big picture especially since there are not a lot of fish that hang out in the cove anyways.
