In warm water you will probably wear a wetsuit with not a lot of weight/drag. Is this a recreational diving trip???

I never leave home without my biofins (split fins). I can swim longer and more sustainably without huge air consumption and leg fatigue. My camera can add quite a bit of drag and I can still keep up with most people.

I don't know what kind of diving that you will be doing, or how strong of a swimmer you are, but if it is recreational style and with dive boat operators - I doubt that they are going to throw you in to exceedingly heavy current situations.

I find that jet fins require a lot more energy to use.
