I really like diving the original steel 72's. The smaller tank valve tapping is 1/2" IPS. It is a tapered thread and the valves were mostly "J" valves. It may be hard to locate a valve. I still have one of these old tanks. The larger tank valve is most likely 3/4" and is a straight thread with an "O" ring seal. You should have no problem finding a replacement valve.
