Agree 100% with Patrick...use only Teflon tape

Avoid pipe dope..Has not been used in the diving community for many years--perhaps as long as 30 years

It is a 1/2 inch tapered thread valve

Often just a 1/4 turn more will seat the valve--note: every time the valve is removed and replaced it will seat lower and less threads will be exposed.

Enjoy diving your new 72 Cuft tank--it has great buoyancy
