This is a big part of the problem. They simply cannot continue to extract this amount of vital forage from our local waters and not expect this starvation to eventually happen. It wouldn't be so bad if they were limited to domestic consumption needs only, but the vast majority of that forage is exported..

The last statistics available are a couple years old, but one can easily extrapolate what has been going on for many years. That page shows the concerted removal of three of our most vital forage food for sea lions, in the millions of pounds and going into one tiny port..
