Currently the only limit change which may be agreed to by all is a total limit for the season.   The reason for this is there are hoop netters who are bagging their 7 every night and probably selling or bartering them illegally.   If a total season limit is adopted I do not want to one that is less three figures.   The chance of a maximum size limit seems about zero.   An increase of the minimum size would probably only happen if the fishery looks like it is in trouble.

The only other changes everyone seems to agree on so far (including commercial fisherman) are; cutting in half the number of commercial permits, becasue since the implementation of the MPAs the productive areas in which it is legal to fish have been cut by approximately 50%; and allowing commercial lobster fisherman to carry dive gear to make it easy for them to find and retrieve their derelict traps.

The reason DFW choose to address the lobster fishery first instead of one of the more troubled fisheries (like rockfish or abalone) is that the lobster fishery is one the few fisheries that currently seems stable.
