The next General Meeting will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 4330 Redondo Beach Blvd. (just east of Hawthorne Blvd. in the Northpoint/CVS Shopping Center) in Torrance, where all our general meetings are held. Go to http://www.seadivers.org/meetings.htm for a map. All Seadiver meetings are free and visitors are welcome.

August 6. Pat Smith will present a program about the local wreck diving. Patrick Smith is a NAUI Instructor, a USCG Licensed captain for vessels to 200 tons, author and consultant to numerous private and government agencies. He has more than 6,000 dives in commercial, academic, scientific, and recreational fields. He works closely with NOAA and the National Park Service on submerged cultural resource projects locally and nationally. He is the author of numerous popular and academic articles and is coauthor of the popular Shipwrecks of Southern California http://amazon.com/Shipwrecks-Southern-California-Bonnie-Cardone/dp/0897320956.

September 3. There is a general meeting but no special presentation. Have a happy Labor Day holiday.

October 1. Don Mueller will present a program about ocean life and wrecks in New Zealand. He will talk about the Arapawa survivor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arapawa_Island and the Rainbow Warrior story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinking_of_the_Rainbow_Warrior. Don and Cathy have been with the Seadivers since the 1970s and Cathy organizes Seadivers reunions http://www.seadiversparty.org/.

November 5. Fletcher and John Forbes will present a program about the diving in the Philippines. They stayed at two land-based resorts: Sogod Bay Scuba Resort in Southern Leyte http://www.sogodbayscubaresort.com/, and Crystal Blue Resort in Anilao http://www.crystalblueanilaodivingresort.com/. One is "famous" for its beautiful walls, tropical fish and macro, and the other (Anilao) is famous for muck diving and a huge number of nudibranch species. January 7. There is a general meeting but no special presentation. Have a happy New Years Day holiday.
