I have the flip 3.1 system with the macromate mini on one hinge and the 10+ on the other and flipped back and forth between the two depending on the situation. For lighting I'm using an Orca Torch d810v light that I picked up at leisurepro. The light is 120 degrees, 950 lumens and no hot spot. I'd recommend using the LCD to assist with focus and composition. There is limited DOF with the macromate, so I also have a stick with the sweet spot for focus distance marked that I will sometimes use to verify I'm at the correct distance.
