This is one of the strongest wind events in the last couple of years.. If you were at the island in 15ft swells with those winds, there would be no where to hide--the only thing you could do would be to get up in the kelp at the east end, south of the sandspit, drop the hook in 35ft and hope a freak swell doesn't sweep through.. 180 trips and 304 nights anchored and i am glad that i am not there today.. I hope everyone is safely tucked into safe harbor today..
