Today we had our hearts set on diving the crane off Haggerty's, but the current was so (atypically) strong that Phil couldn't even put out the ladder. We hauled anchor and bounced through confused seas to the south side where conditions were diveable. Jim Lyle and Scott and Margaret Webb encountered the same stout current at Golf Ball Reef, so they pulled anchor and arrived at Garden Spot shortly after we did. A clear layer of surface water became a hazy 15 feet at the bottom, 59 degrees.
