santa monica bay today

Dove the bay today. With only 4 months until lobster season, it's time to start recon. So we swam around in sand, looking for reef.....

1st dive was 110' on the south side of the canyon. Good warm clear water in the top 20 feet, pretty green in the middle slab, and decently clear below that. Temps on the bottom were 54.

2nd dive was 70' on the north side of the canyon. Similar conditions, but the poor vis extended all the way to the sand.

Good conditions, but I'd recommend the deeper stuff for now.
