Begg Rock and San Nicolas Island are awesome dives!

Begg Rock

Come enjoy some great diving at the Begg Rock and San Nicolas Island on Friday and Saturday July 14-15 aboard the Peace with the Sea Divers.   Begg Rock is world class pinnacle 8 miles Northwest from San Nicolas Island that offers incredibly lush invertebrate life, giant sheets of encrusting purple coral, huge schools of rockfish, and walls that drop into the abyss. It is he most dramatic dive in California.   Begg Rock is a Marine Protected Area.

After 1-3 dives at Begg Rock we will head to San Nicolas Island where there are many smaller offshore pinnacles with healthy kelp, lush life, and abundant fish.   As you can see from last year's (2016) trip and the 2015 trip there are ample photo opportunities and plenty of fish for those who want to bring some seafood.   There are no MPAs at Nic, only at Begg Rock.   Both Begg Rock and San Nicolas Island sit well offshore and are well fed by upwellings and currents that feed the profuse sea life.

Boarding on the Peace begins at 8PM on Thursday evening July 13 and the boat departs promptly at Midnight.   We should be back at the dock by around 6:30PM on Saturday evening.
