Six divers, the Capt. and the crew (me) headed out to the Olympic II
Wreck and Eureka Oil Rig.

Conditions were very good, Socal at its best; bright sunshine, 70F, no
wind, flat seas and great viz.

The wreck had a slight current running North to South and there were
some particulates in the water, but I could see the bright surface
from the wreck at 90'. The light really lit up the schools of fish
that orbit above the wreck making a scene you just have to witness in
person, its pretty amazing.

From the wreck we headed out to the Eureka Oil Platform which sits
eleven miles offshore in 700' of water. Viz there was good too, with
just a hint of current. Two of our party harvested scallops and the
rest of us went sightseeing. Although conditions were good, we did not
observe any large fish schools or pelagics at the rig.

We are heading out tomorrow again with a couple of spots still open
(1/2 day trip two dives), PM (text) if you are interested in the
details. As I have reported recently, conditions right now are the
best they have been in 2017. So go diving!

Divemetrics: Olympic: 98', 60F, 46mins
Eureka : 78', 64F, 34mins
