We are all here because we share a unique love for the ocean, particularly for our shared waters..  With much grief in my heart, i must tell everyone that in the last 6 weeks a fin-fish trapper has denuded the entire backside of San Nicolas Island of all the kelp--all of the forests are GONE! THE single most pristine island habitat in southern California was just WIPED OUT by ONE individual over the course of 6 weeks! Even if you have never been, there this represents a historical and devastating loss! Not only were the rockfish removed and the kelp all pulled up, there is no chance of the sea otter population being able to survive this rampage..I hope we can talk about this--This is real and it is happening now!
