This tiny reef is in the State Marine Conservation Area (no take), right off Point Vicente. If the 20 nudibranch species between us are any indicator, it means that life (as we perceive it) is returning to our local reefs. We're surprised that we're not seeing the number of rockfish around the pinnacles as in the past. What we ARE seeing, however, is a consistent number of small boats poaching there. We motor over to give them a map that shows the boundaries, but it's pretty discouraging nonetheless.
