Phil and I have actually had a several nice dives this week. Per day, we could only make one dive before the wind drove us back to the dock.

Water temp 55 - 57, vis up to 35 feet.

California scorpionfish

Rainbow seaperch

Juvenile sheephead

Painted greenling

This is not just your ordinary yellow crab, Cancer anthonyi. This one's claw happens to be sporting an often overlooked, small barnacle, the red-striped acorn barnacle. I've been looking for a live, feeding specimen for several years. Many of these barnacles are heavily encrusted or extremely small, so this was a find! Phil pointed out the crab and I bogarted it.

Red-striped acorn barnacle, Paraconcavus pacificus

Hudson's dorid

Small juvenile rockfish

Cuthona divae

Peltodoris nobilis with an egg mass of unusual color
