The pace of the Challenge definitely ebbs and flows throughout the time we’re raising funds for our Chamber and today we got a good little flow to push us past $35,000.

We start off with a Silver level donation from Reef Seekers Dive Co. (a store that’s obviously near and dear to my heart). We made the commitment years ago to not only donate some funds, but also to serve as Chamber Day HQ, a role that continues to this day. In fact, as I’m writing this update from my desk, we have four other people here tonight, spread around my place, putting together the various envelopes that will go out to those of you who have signed up so far.

We also want to take a moment to remind you that you can make Challenge donations in honor of or in memory of someone on the line that says “Donation Assignment.” In general, we feel “in honor of” is appropriate for someone who’s still with us, and “in memory” of is for those who have passed away. We’ll list that person’s name (along with “honor” or “memory”) and the name of the donor in parentheses following. If you’d prefer your name NOT be listed as donor, you can make a note of that as well.

But back to the business at hand. We’ve got a ways to go and five weeks to get there. The funds raised from Chamber Day help keep our Chamber running 24/7/365 so your support is crucial and needed.
