Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!! And since today’s official color is green, it’s the perfect day to tell you about the “green” we’ve added to the Challenge, as we squeak past $46,000!!!

This huge jump comes courtesy of longtime Challenge donor Glenn Suhd, who again this year has decided to support our Chamber with a fabulous Diamond-level donation of $10,000. Glenn considers himself just a “regular” diver who simply loves being underwater and understands the value of our Chamber should something go awry. Even more interesting is that Glenn rarely (if ever) dives SoCal waters anymore and does most of his submersion in tropical waters. But he knows that our Chamber needs to be there for other local divers as well as he knows that some of the techniques and treatments that are developed through our Chamber can be shared with other chambers around the world and in that way, might eventually benefit him as well.

So whether you do all of your diving here, some of your diving here, or none of it here, your Chamber still needs to be there for the local SoCal diving community. Chamber Day helps provide a significant percentage of the annual funding for our Chamber, and the Chamber Challenge provides a major portion of the final amount raised by the overall event.

So who’s next??? Who will push us over $50,000? It doesn’t have to happen with just one donation because, as much as we appreciate (and need) those $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 donations, all of those $100 and $500 ones really add up (and make up the majority of the Challenge donations).
