KellyG, The PADI dive manuals are generic(as are most dive manuals), they don't address the kind of condition we dive in every weekend. I know some of the guys that wrote the PADI manuals (they were not very good Calif. beach divers,their diving experience was mostly in Florida,in caves).
As far as the Padi method, I been a Padi instructor since 1975, my instructor number is 6301. I have a clue of what Padi is all about.
You don't have to be a genius to see that Padi's main concern is not what's good of the Dive community, but what's good for PADI.
