Dive N Surf and Reefseekers boats routinely ask to see c-cards, except where the diver is personally known to the DM to be certified (i.e., you've already shown the card many times.) I assume other groups do the same.
What groups/boats have you dived with where you did not show a card? Just curious. I would think it behooves the boat or group to check, so at the very least, to reduce the chances of dealing with an unpleasant incident.
