The answer is simple... We don't need 946,000 new PADI cert a year...

You don't need to convince potential students what they want, you simply tell them that you can't teach them over a weekend and you can't do it for $99.. If it isn't available then it's irrelevent if they want it...

The problem is that the shops are shooting themselves in the foot.. Most recognize that when a student takes a class they buy gear, and that's were the money is.. So what happens??? They water down the class ( ie; save time cause time is money) so they can get the assembly line moving through the gear department.. Sell them the mask fin and snorkels at a minumm and computers and BC....

It isn't the demand side that is the problem, it's the supply side..
