That is the hope... I wonder... no I doubt. The ocean doesn't do things that way. She doesn't grant immunity.
I am not sure where 130 came from and I hear that it is 150 in Europe. 130 is dangerous and 150 more so, so I guess that's good enough. My impression is that the hazard of that depth range has always seemed much less in warmer waters. I'm not sure why.
In any case, having carefully read the two main DIR web sites, I have never seen a suggested rec diving depth limit of 100 feet. Diving with air, yes, but that's it. That's one reason I'd like to see the DIR Rec book. It should be more clear on many issues.
We're lucky that not only does CA have so much good diving, most of it is also shallow.
