Out of curiousity, I went ahead and visited the ASA website that you quoted from in your post. Very interesting site. I looked at the page you referenced. It makes some very well thought out and convincing arguments. However, I noticed you didn't quote the entire page. I was wondering, why did you omit this part of the page?

"If created as they currently are on land with commercial development limited, marine protected areas would have the potential to provide huge benefits to sport fishing and the businesses that they support. This notion does not go unappreciated. Both the individual angler and the recreational fishing industry rely on abundant healthy fish populations to support our sport. After all, no fish means no sport fishing industry."
