Last night after getting tired of waiting for a response to my query about why we don't dump overly weighted divers of their weights when an OOAE occurs as promised by MHK, I decided to go for a night dive at Redondo Canyon. While I appreciate the fact that beach diving is eschewed by some more "experienced" divers here, I was absolutely horrified to see a couple dual tank divers with a 4 ft Bat Ray attached to their spear getting out of the water while I was getting in at Redondo. All that for some fake scallop meat from a beautiful Bat Ray?
Reminds me of my home in Tombstone, AZ and the geeks shooting coyotes for the pure pleasure of killing a free ranging animal.
