Dir refers to a particular dive philosophy, up to you to choose if it is for you. Gue is a group of divers that usually adhere to the DIR principles and offer training based on that, also up to you.
We got a bunch of goofballs (me included) and a bunch of serious divers here who have good information. I think you may find this BBS while at times infuriating, a not so stuffy exchange among a lot of differing ideologies and practices. Read between the lines a bit and YOU decide what is better suited to your needs. Have fun here and as one of the editors, SeaHunt says, "Enjoy the diving"
