Ditch a $350.00 piece of gear?! Not on my longest, darkest, deepest dive. That's a major reason my weight is in a DUI Weight & Trim harness. I've got four pounds in each pouch. Push come to dump, I dump a couple of fours. Eight times 2 bucks is 16 bucks, or worse case scenario (odds the same as lightening striking me) I dump all four pouches. 100 bucks to replace, not 350. Best combo for safety and economy IMHO.
As to signaling a buddy, well...let's not go there, okay ;-)
