Not at all. The fingers on one's hands are commonly referred to as digits.
From Webster's;
dig·it / n. 1. A human finger or toe.
If you cut two fingers off of one glove, that's a
total of four exposed fingers, or four exposed
digits, that no longer have neoprene covering
them.
