Did my first beach dive with my new 36# wing. I am still about 3# overweighted with 19 pounds of lead, SS BP and STA.

I noticed at the beginning of the dive (tank is heaviest), while on the surface prior to descent, with the bladder fully inflated to over-relief, it floated me *just* at shoulder level. It's not a problem, per se, but in heavy choppy seas I'd be uncomfortable.

I am used to my Balance with 40 something # riding me way high, and this was lower than I am used to. While diving, I wasn't perfectly weighted so I did have to add air to the bladder, and felt no problems at depth.

I will check and see if taking off 3-4 pounds fixes this. If it doesn't, do I need to move up to the next wing, or is this how they are supposed to ride?

As a sidenote, I did notice on the surface that everyone else's BCs were inflated and riding up by their ears. Looked uncomfortable.

Chris
