So, where is your house located?? I'm use to short fills. Thought I've got a similar story, 15+ years or so back, in the Inland Empire, pre-Sports Chalet, they're still in business. It narrows down the field. But, I'm not telling. The 'trainee' now is the owner. The field narrows. I brought in a tank, steel 'flat bottom' 80, 1800 psi. Which he assumed was an aluminum 80, 3000 psi (a little short though). After filling it on a hot Inland Empire summer day, the 'trainee' proudly tells me he gave me a 'good fill' of 3500 psi. I quick back out the door and ask him to reread the pressure rating. After the hisssing stops I re-enter and he appologies and quickly blames the shop that did the tank valve service for not putting in the proper burst disk. Good point. But, I desided not to quiz him his reading comprehension.

The moral: A 'good fill' is nice. An 'insane' fill is 'insane'.
