I was first in the water about 6 months ago and saw my first pleagic type shark (I think it was a blue)when not on a shark dive. It was awesome! That is the way things are supposed to be.

What I did notice was that he did come up from behind. I remember thinking at the time that it was strange that sharks can probably tell which side of a human is "the front side". As soon as I looked at him and tried to get it together for a photo - he took off.

Maybe someday, shark sightings will be a common experience. It will mean that they have a good food supply to support the population. It will mean that humans have ended the devistation of the shark species. Wouldn't it be awesome to not have to travel to Cocos Island or somewhere similar to have a shark encounter?
