Does anyone know how deep those squid nets go?

I've heard from someone once that the nets do not go very deep, 25 feet or so? And that the squids are attracted to the light from the boat, and come up toward the surface to be netted. If anyone knows for sure, please let us know if this is incorrect. Any squid fisherman out there reading these posts? ;-)

Also, if this is true, lets say diving around 40+ feet would be out of reach of the squid nets? I know many of us dive Redondo Canyon and it can easily get to 60-100 feet in the canyon there.

Of course you still have the occasional seal bombs
