I always wanted to do Molikini Backside. A story I was told was by some
folks that dove it looking for these scallops with fancy shells that fetched
a decent price. They told me how they got them. Three divers would enter the
water with those neet Hawaiian style backpacks that have bars that rest over
your shoulders. Two divers would share a tank on the way down with the third
diver following as far as 90 feet. The two divers sharing the tank would go
to 150 feet and go onto their tanks. They would send the extra tank up on a
lift bag to be caught by the support diver at 90 feet. They would use their
air to look for the scallops at depth. The support diver swore that they were
trying to kill him by launching the tank.
That's a dive I would love to do.
Enjoy the diving, seahunt
