The mindset and experience is what brings them home. It's certainly not the gear. I myself see a certain obligation to keep your skills and knowledge level compatible with the level of diving you perform. That could be by research and experimentation or by training and certification. Who knows? I might be in the market for some new gear after next week.. Your right that its a mindset... most of the gear has been around for years. I've also read the WKPP stuff on the net for some time and see it in some cases as the cutting edge of diving. The page on helping a diver recover from a CNS ox tox hit is one thing that immediately came to mind. Before that I guess I figured you just convulsed and drowned (since that was where the basic nitrox training stopped).
