Ya know, I've always wondered about that area near the Ventura pier.
It is a huge area of rocky reefs and looks really promising... other
than that vis (or lack there of) you mentioned.
What you should do is when the Santana winds blow, watch the water
temp. If it suddenly drops about 4 or 5 degrees, it probably means
the winds have caused a cold upwelling. You might get some really
good vis then, even there. Go dive the place. Get your bug back and
tell us what the area diving is like.
