Need a buddy

I am hoping to go on the Great Escape open boat trip to Santa Barbara Island on November 4. My only problem is that my dive buddies are all unavailable. My question is, do I go alone, and hope to buddy up with someone on the boat, or do I go alone prepared to dive solo, or do I just not go at all? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
